Necropsy Profiles
The RADIL is committed to providing our clients with the most reliable and cost-effective research animal health monitoring. We provide a species-specific series of health monitoring and diagnostic necropsy profiles designed to identify microbial infections of laboratory animals.
The standard profiles include a complete necropsy examination with serology and parasitology. The options of adding Histopathology of selected target tissues, Microbiology (cultures for respiratory and enteric bacterial pathogens), and Helicobacter PCR allow you to customize the panel to more effectively meet your needs and maximize your testing dollar.
Our on-line reporting system allows viewing of results as soon as the testing is complete and the case has been reviewed and approved. Additionally, E-mail notification will be sent whenever results indicate a potential disease problem in your facility. You may also opt to receive e-mail notification when the case is ready for viewing on-line.
The standard profiles include:
- Clinical Profile
- Basic Profile
- Comprehensive Profile
- Comprehensive Plus Profile
- Immunocompromised Profile
Standard profiles include a complete necropsy examination with serology and parasitology.
Optional additions to standard profiles include:
-
Addition of Histopathology of selected target tissues.
Addition of Microbiology (cultures for respiratory and enteric baterial pathogens)
Addition of Helicobacter PCR
Addition of Pneumocystis carinii PCR to Immunocompromised Profile
Addition of Corynebacterium bovis PCR to Immunocompromised Profile (nude mice only)
We also offer:
- Diagnostic Necropsy Profile
This profile is used for selected animals that have identifiable clinical problems. Specific tests are determined by the pathologist in consultation with the client. - FELASA Profiles for Mice and Rats
Profile for mice and rats that meets current FELASA guideline. Reports are available for these profiles in the FELASA reporting format. - Health Monitoring Profiles for the Pet Industry
- Sample Collection
RADIL can also assist with your sample collection needs. Sample collected can include, but are not limited to, fixed or frozen tissues, blood/serum or epididymal semen. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Custom profiles can be designed to meet specific needs.

Health Monitoring Profiles for the Pet Industry
The RADIL has designed new health monitoring profiles for the monitoring rodent colonies in the pet trade. These profiles focus on agents that are capable of causing clinical disease or death in rodents (colony loss or individual disease) as well as agents that are transmissible to humans (zoonotic agents).
