Summary of Phenotype
Results of this report are primarily descriptive and represent the analysis of one mutant mouse. They should therefore be interpreted with caution and as preliminary, observation-generating data.
Anecdotally, BMBX mutant mice have been reported to have low testicular weights and absence of mature sperm. In this study, the left testicle of the mutant was grossly small and was less than half the weight of the control animal. On histopathologic examination, diffuse germ cell atrophy with absence of spermatogenesis and interstitial cell hyperplasia was found. No other significant phenotype abnormalities were identified.
Summary - Gross Findings
The mutants left testicular weight (0.0322g) was less than half of the weight of the left testicle of the control animal (0.1081g).
