Collection of rat mesenteric lymph nodes

Step 1. Expose the peritoneal cavity by reflecting the skin and subcutaneous tissue. |

Step 2. Locate cecum and position colon and ileum as indicated in picture. Mesenteric lymph node chain will be visible centrally between the colon and ileum as indicated by arrows. |

Step 3. Dissect away overlying mesenteric fat to better visualize mesenteric lymph node tissue (indicated by arrows). Collect dissected mesenteric lymph node. |
